About Us

Trustus We Care CLG, trading as Trustus Senior Care, (formerly Tallaght Welfare Society, (TWS)) is the longest serving community/voluntary organisation in the greater Tallaght and surrounding areas, operating for over 52 years since it was established by the Dominican Order Tallaght in 1969. We operate a number of support services for the elderly, disabled and vulnerable people of our community. These services include Meals on Wheels, a Friendly Call Service, the Seniors Alert Scheme for pendant alarms and a Day Centre providing social activities for seniors.

At Trustus Senior Care, we endeavour to be a professional, reliable and trustworthy organisation that focuses on supporting the physical, psychological, social and personal needs of our clients, to help create a caring environment within our community. Working in partnership with the Health Service Executive (HSE), we strictly adhere to healthcare standards and regulations to ensure a high standard of safety and care for all of our clients.

Our services are delivered by a well-trained, courteous and dedicated team of managers, carers, administrators, drivers, and volunteers. We value and appreciate the efforts of our team and encourage each member to have a voice in the operations of our organisation. In partnership with the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP), our Active Labour Market programme operates a number of work placement schemes within our organisation that provides work experience, training and supports for unemployed individuals that are looking to re-enter the work force.

To help support our organisation, we also operate a charity shop known as The Magpies Nest, which sells a variety of items such as clothing, jewellery, books, DVDs, videogames and toys. We regularly receive donations of brand new and second hand goods from generous individuals that want to help support us. All proceeds from the store go towards helping us provide our many services such as Meals on Wheels and our Day Centre activities.

We continually strive to keep improving and expanding services through strategic planning and development as well as cooperation with local organisations. Trustus Senior Care is a member of the National Community Care Network (NCCN), that was established in 2014 to provide a unified voice on the commissioning and delivery of support to vulnerable persons in the community. We are also a member of the Dublin City Public Participation Network, which helps community and voluntary groups to network with each other, access training and development opportunities and participate in local decision making.

With our clear mission to operate a caring and supportive organisation, we hope to continue helping our community for many years to come.
