Seniors Alert Scheme

The Seniors Alert Scheme provides funding for a personal pendant alarm for anyone aged 65 or older who lives alone or is at home alone for significant periods of time during the day. The objective of the scheme is to allow older individuals of limited means to live comfortably in their homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind by providing them with a free personal monitored alarm. At Trustus Senior Care, we help administrate the application process for the scheme within the Dublin area on behalf of Pobal, a not-for-profit company that manages programmes on behalf of the Irish Government and the EU.

Applicants will receive an alarm base unit that connects to a landline or mobile and a pendant alarm which can be worn as a pendant or like a watch. When pressed, the pendant alarm notifies the alarm base unit, which immediately sends a call to a 24-hour monitoring centre.

All equipment and installation under the scheme is free. For the first year, the alarm monitoring service is free but after that you must pay the annual monitoring fee to keep using the service. If there is no suitable landline available and a mobile signal is required, you may be charged a small fee to cover the mobile SIM cost.

To apply, a referral form must be completed and then sent to us by email to info@trustus.ie. If you are living with another person that is eligible or you are a carer to someone else that requires it, you may apply on their behalf but the referral form details must be in that person’s name. The referral form can be downloaded by clicking the button below. For more information call 01 468 5500 or email info@trustus.ie.
