Our History

Our organisation was originally founded in 1969 as the Tallaght Welfare Society, through the vision, dedication and commitment of Fr Paul Hynes, OP, Prior of St. Mary’s Dominican Priory, Tallaght and Charlie O’ Toole, a local community worker, who was installed as its first Director. The concept in founding the organisation was to promote a caring environment within the local Tallaght community by providing supportive services and projects that improved the lives of local elderly, disabled and vulnerable individuals who were in need. In 2009, The Tallaght Welfare Society was rebranded as Trustus We Care and in 2022, we registered Trustus Senior Care as a trading name. Our organisation has a long history of working with the community, for the community. The ethos and core values of our company are still evident today as we continue to professionally deliver and expand our supportive services.

Our most recent initiative has been the development of a charity shop at the Village Green, Tallaght, which we named “The Magpies Nest”. Proceeds from the shop go towards supporting our client services such as our Meals on Wheels service and Day Centre activities.
